Jungle green
Rich, dense
With immense impact.
Boldness of colour,
Not a dream.
Jungle green
Will always seem
Adventurous, daring.
In no way timid,
Not at all retiring.
Jungle green
Seen vividly
In summer colour,
So dense, immense,
Intent upon being noticed.
Jungle green
Is truly glorious.
Never shy
But riding high
Victorious, it is summer!
Jungle green
Has there been
Ever a richer,
Deeper green?
No, possibly never.
Jungle green
Beams out,
If with voice,
Would shout
‘Look at us!’
Jungle green
God’s choice
For nature
Is certainly green,
Whatever the shade.
Jungle green
God made
Lime, olive,
Pea, bottle or reseda
A shade darker.
Jungle green,
Glorious green,
A sheen, supreme!
Sit, dream up
A summer scene,
In of course,
Jungle green!
Lord, You have made jungle green to be a most alluring, exciting, eye-catching shade. Thank You so much. As we sit and ponder the colour, help us please to think about You as the Creator of all nature, questioning: Why? For when we can answer this, we will realise what true joy there is to be found in Your presence. For such joy, I praise You. Amen.
